Glengolly Bed and Breakfast is sited in Durness the most north westerly village on the British Mainland, in the beautiful area known as "Mackay Country"

Our aim is to make your stay with us one to remember so we offer a traditional  highland welcome together with a friendly service. You are free to enjoy outdoor pursuits or just relax in the lounge with a book from the well stocked bookcase.

The modernised croft house is 120 years old and has a traditional character and many features of the original house.

The proprietor, Martin Mackay, is  a full time crofter and is informative about the ways and methods of crofting life. You can watch Border Collies at work.

Glengolly is situated in the old village township of Durine near the centre of the village and makes an ideal situation to explore the parish and the surrounding area. We are close to beaches, restaurants and the Golf Course which has views you will find unbelievable. The name Glengolly is from the Gaelic Gleanna Gallaidh "Glen of the Stranger" and was made famous by the local Gaelic Bard Rob Donn who is buried in Balnakeil Cemetery.
